The Massachusetts Consumer Protection Act, Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 93A, prohibits “unfair methods of competition” and “unfair or deceptive acts or practices in the conduct of any trade or commerce.” Consisting of just 11 sections, Chapter 93A has generated an oversized amount of regulatory and judicial activity, which can make the law challenging for legal and business professionals to navigate.
